What the tools do with your input

Everything you type into a calculator is processed by the page you're looking at and never sent anywhere. There are no accounts and no sign-ups.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get used. It sets cookies and is covered by Google's privacy policy. Your language and theme choices stay in your own browser's storage and are never transmitted.

Fonts

The typefaces load from Google Fonts, so your browser requests font files from Google's servers. Like any web request, that includes your IP address. Everything else the site uses is served from hobbybench.site itself.

Server logs

Pages are delivered through Cloudflare and a hosting server, which keep routine logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp) for security and uptime, as nearly all hosts do. Those logs follow the providers' own policies.

Changes

If what this site collects ever changes, this page will be updated first to describe exactly what is measured.

Why the calculators never send anything

Every calculation on this site runs in JavaScript inside your browser. There is no API call, no server round trip and no logging of the numbers you type. You can confirm this yourself: open your browser's network panel, work through any calculator, and you will see no request leave the page while you type. The same is true of the component identifier and every pinout diagram, which are static content with no back end behind them.

Turning analytics off

Any content blocker or a browser set to reject third-party cookies stops the analytics script from loading, and the site works exactly the same without it. Nothing on this site depends on being able to track you, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to beyond that one measurement script.
